Tech Note 1: Only Use with Originally Equipped
QU40448 is not used on all Dana 44 axles. It is primarily found on front axle applications, but it should not be used unless your axle was originally equipped with one.

Tech Note 2: Pinion Depth
Since QU40448U fits between the inner pinion bearing cup and axle housing inner pinion bore face, you MUST include the thickness of the Baffle when calculating your pinion depth shim pack. Typically axles that use this Baffle will have deeper inner pinion bearing bores compared to axles that do not use the Baffle.
