QU50830 Input Bearing Retainer for 1994-2005 Dodge NV4500LD Transmissions is a bare, replacement part that fits all New Venture NV4500LD 5 speed Manual Transmissions in 1994-2004 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with gas V8 engines. For Conversion Applications, QU50830 also fits 1996-2007 GM NV4500 transmissions. Matching 10 spline input shaft will be 1-1/8" in diameter. QU50830 is a bare, finished casting, it does NOT include QU10125 Input Bearing Cup and QU10126 Input Seal. Imported.

Tech Note 1: Bearing Retainer Specs
Approximate dimensions for QU50830 are:
Bellhousing index pilot diameter 5.6".
Pilot for the transmission case 4.1".
Bolt Circle 4.85"
Snout Diameter 1.43"

Tech Note 2: Fits
QU50830 replaces original equipment QU10096 Input Bearing Retainer. QU50830 will fit all Dodge and 1996 and newer GM NV4500 transmission cases. The original application is NV4500LD 5 speed manual transmissions in 1994-2005 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with gas V8 engines. Matching QU10046 input shaft will be 1-1/8" x 10 spline.

Tech Note 3: Sealants
Early production NV4500 Transmissions used an anaerobic sealant (QU90003) to seal between the main case and bearing retainer. Later production transmissions used black RTV sealant (QU90006 or QU90005). Either type of sealant works fine, but I prefer RTV for this application. Regardless of which sealant you use, make sure excess sealant does not block the lube access hole at the top of pilot that fits into the transmission case. Also, the threaded holes in the main case for the four retainer bolts are open ended, so you must use new bolts with factory applied theadlocker (QU10100) or apply Threadlocker (S24200) to your existing bolts to prevent oil seepage past the bolt threads. Tech Note 4: Before Installing
Before installing your Clutch Release Bearing, apply a very thin flim of tacky grease to the retainer snout. This lube, combined with grease on the inside of the release bearing casting will reduce clutch pedal effort and wear on the snout.

Tech Note 5: Installer Tools
Use QT1801 Bearing Cup to install and fully seat QU50830 Retainer. Use QT2005 Bearing/Seal Installer to install QU10126 Input Seal. See my TM1003 NV4500 Shop Manual or VSG1003DVD NV4500 Overhaul Video for more information.
