QU40883 3 Pleat Rear Drive Shaft Boot Kit for Ford Excursion and 1999-Current Ford Super Duty® F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks. QU40883 3 Pleat Boot fits Ford rear drive shafts that have slip stub splines over 1-1/2" in diameter. Also fits 2005-2009 Chevy Kodiak and GMC TopKick C4500, C5500 4x4 Front CV Driveshafts. Genuine original equipment Kit includes Slip Yoke Boot and one each QU40084 and QU40085 Boot Clamps.

Tech Note 2: Replace Damaged Boot
A boot protected driveshaft slip joint will usually outlast the truck as as long as the boot is intact and there is some grease on the splines. If your Boot is damaged, REPLACE IT! If your Boot is OK, but you are doing other driveshaft service, always clean and grease the splines AND replace the clamps!

Tech Note 3: Clamp Tool
Using a Clamp Tool specifically made to tighten eared clamps around the driveshaft boot is the best way to tension a stainless steel Boot Clamp to provide a 360 air and watertight seal. If a Clamp Tool is not available, you may be able to get by with a nail puller or hoof nippers. Wire cutters could be used in an emergency situation as a last resort, but the results are often unsatisfactory.

Tech Note 4: 3-Pleat Boot
QU40883 has a 3 pleat Boot which is an original equipment replacement part for Ford Excursion and Ford Super Duty® rear driveshafts with fine spline slip stubs that have a spline diameter of between 1-1/2" and 1-5/8".
