QU40843 Special 16 Spline Slip Stub

QU40843 Special 16 Spline Slip Stub fits the 2.5" x 0.095" wall thickness tubing used on most 1994-up Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 Double Cardan front CV driveshafts. The length from end of spline to weld point is approximately 19/32" longer than the stubs used on most of the 1994 to 2002 Dodge original equipment front driveshafts. See Tech Note below. USA Made.

Applications

Tech Note 1: Installation
Installation of this part requires machine shop and welding skills. Driveshaft fabrication can be done by any competent machinist, but best results are usually obtained from dedicated driveshaft specialists who can both assemble and balance the finished shaft. Tech Note 2: Length
Cut your driveshaft tubing to a length that will have the slip yoke at the midpoint of it's travel over the non-splined segment of the stub with the trucks weight on the front axle.

Tech Note 4: Boot
Optional QU50233 Boot can be used with QU40845 or QU40906 Slip Yokes. The Boot can extend Slip Joint life because it does provide a water-tight seal for the upper end of the Slip Yoke, however you still have too periodically grease the slip yoke since the Slip Yoke vent can allow water to enter the lower end of the Slip Yoke.
