QU40150 Dana 50IFS, Dana 60 Lockout Hub to Wheel Hub Snap Ring

QU40150 Dana 50, Dana 60 Hub Body to Wheel Hub Retaining Ring is a genuine original equipment Dana Spicer replacement part for 1970s to 1990s heavy duty 3/4 ton and 1 ton 4x4s with Dana 50IFS, Dana 60, and Dana 61 front drive axles using Dana-Spicer or Warn® internal spline mount hubs. It also fits first generation Warn® QU56011 aftermarket replacement hub sets. This Ring expands into a groove machined in the wheel hub and it keeps the lockout hub body in place inside the wheel hub. USA Made.

Tech Note 1: Warn 11690 (M256) Snap Ring Design Change
Until around 2002, this Ring was supplied in Warn® plastic and brass dial aftermarket replacement hub sets for the Dana 50/60/61 axles. At that time, the body was redesigned and QU56017 Spiral Retaining Ring replaced this part. In most cases, the new Spiral Ring can not be used with older hub bodies unless the hub ID has a machined chamfer as there is insufficient clearance between the hub body shoulder and wheel hub to feed in the new ring.

Tech Note 3: Removal
We frequently have customers contact us for Tech Help in removing their lock out hub body. In most cases the problem is simply QU40150 hub snap ring is covered with grease so it can't be seen. Once the hub cap is off, you should be able to see the ring located in the wheel hub groove, if not, wipe away any grease. The ring ends are undercut, so once you locate the ring, it is easy to remove with a small screwdriver or pick.
