Tech Note 1: 2012-Early 2013
RAM chassis cab trucks for 2012 and early 2013 with base transfer case assembly number 68069707 use a different rear housing that is no longer available.
Tech Note 2: Fixed Flange vs Slip Yoke Rear Output
2012-2018 RAM Chassis Cab 4x4 trucks have a fixed flange type transfer case rear output. In an emergency, you can unbolt and remove the rear driveshaft to operate the vehicle in front wheel drive by shifting the transfer case to 4x4 mode. RAM 4x4 pickups with a slip yoke type transfer case rear output can not be operated without the rear driveshaft.
