Tech Note 1: SRW Only
We often get requests about converting a Single Rear Wheel (SRW) Rear Axle to a Dual Rear Wheel (DRW). TKA11732 ONLY fits 1987-1993 Single Rear Wheel Rear Axles with 1/2" Wheel Studs. The drum offset, spindle length and inner wheel bearing/wheel seal diameters are different between the SRW and DRW rear axles!

Tech Note 2: Hub Assembly
TKA11732 is a Hub Assembly that includes (8) QU80034 1/2" Wheel Bolts and installed Timken Bearing Cups. The wheel bolts or studs are shipped loose because the brake drum must be installed on the hub before you press the studs in.

Tech Note 3: Wheel Bearing Adjustment
Under Construction

Tech Note 4: Lubrication
The Rear Wheel Bearings and Bearings need to be packed with grease to provide initial lubrication before you install the hub assembly on the rear axle spindle.

Tech Note 5: Axle Vent
Always check to make sure the axle vent system is clear. A plugged vent will cause axle pressure to build up which can blow out new wheel seals in a hurry.

Tech Note 6: Grease Deflector or Slinger
Dodge used TK11735 stamped steel Grease Deflector or Slinger to help protect the brake shoes from oil contamination in the case of a wheel seal leak. TK11735 Slinger is no longer available. Like your original hub, TKA11732 Hubs are sized to accept the slingers if they are in good shape and the ID of the matching drum is also sized accurately. The slingers were always a very tight fit between the drum and hub. If the slinger is thickened from being pressed together during the original installation, damaged/rusty or the drum bore is either dirty or slightly under size it may be impossible to install and reuse the slinger. In that case, you will have to install the drum without the slinger.

Safety Note:
Stock Elastic Stop Spindle Nuts and Lock Wedges used on 1979-1993 Dodge Ram Dana 60 and Dana 70 rear axles are designed to be installed once and only once! For safety reasons, you must discard both the nut and wedge if they are removed from the spindle for any reason. Both parts lose a percentage of their resistance of coming off when they are removed. You may hear of cases where this type of factory nut has come off while the truck was being driven. Invariably, these failures involve nuts and wedges that have been reused or improperly installed. NEVER REUSE FACTORY ELASTIC STOP SPINDLE NUTS and LOCK WEDGES!!!!!
