QU11143 Wide Input Bearing Dodge New Process NP241DHD Transfer Case Front Case Sub-Assembly is specific to 1999.5-2002 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 4x4 trucks with New Process NP241DHD, manual shift, part-time heavy-duty transfer cases but it will work on most 1994-2002 NP241DHD transfer cases with input bearing and/or output seal changes. QU11143 is a genuine New Process replacement sub-assembly that includes QU50176 wide input bearing, QU50207 front output bearing, QU10801 front output seal, and the planetary annulus ring. Tech Note 1: Planetary Tooth Cut 
QU11143 Includes an Annulus Gear made to fit Narrow Tooth Planetary Sets. Many early production (1994-1995 and possibly some very early 1996) Ram 2500, Ram 3500 4x4 trucks with New Process NP241DLD and NP241DHD transfer cases have a wide cut planetary gear set. While the planetary gear tooth profile is visibly different than narrow cut teeth used through 2002, the diameters of the 3 pieces (Input, Planetary, Annulus) are also slightly different. QU11143 Front Case half is made for the narrow tooth planetary set. It will NOT work on 1994-1996 assembly numbers 52098534, 52099036, and 52099037. See Help Article IDN-400 for more information.

Tech Note 2:  Input Bearing Width 
1994-2002 Dodge Ram NP241DLD and NP241DHD Transfer Cases were built with input shafts  using either a narrow (5/8” wide, Single Row) or wide (15/16” wide, Double Row) Input Ball Bearing. While a narrow bearing cannot be used on an input made for the wide bearing and visa-versa, the combined matching bearings and shafts are totally interchangeable. For example, If you are doing a manual transmission swap on a 1998 Automatic transmission equipped Cummins powered truck with NP241DHD Assembly number 52105028, you can replace the original QU50640 input shaft/QU50874 Narrow Bearing with QU10889 29 Spline Input/QU50873 Wide Bearing. Need more info? Tech Note 6:  Fits 
QU11143 can fit most 1994-2002 NP241DHD transfer cases with minor part changes, but it is specific to 1999.5 to 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with NP241DHD Transfer Cases with the following assembly numbers: 52105026AB, 52105027AB, 52105027AC, 52105027AD, 52105028AB, 52105028AC, and 52105028AD. Tech Note 7:  Prep 
These new front case halves are bulk shipped from the factory without individual packaging, so airborne contaminants can get into the bearings. I suggest you clean the bearings and mating surfaces immediately prior to assembly.

Tech Note 8:  DLD and DHD Models 
For the 1994 to 2002 model years, New Process made two versions of the NP241 transfer case for Dodge. NP241DLD (Dodge Light Duty) models were stock in Ram 2500 4x4 trucks. NP241DHD (Dodge Heavy Duty) was optional for Ram 2500 and stock for Ram 3500. NP241DHD cases have wider chains, PTO drive provision, and for 1996.5-2002 model years a larger rear output shaft compared to the DLD cases.
