Description

QU10704 GM NV4500 Input Bearing Retainer is a genuine New Venture Input Shaft Bearing Retainer for all 1996-2007 GM NV4500 5 speed Manual Transmissions in 1996-2007 Chevy and GMC C/K 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks with gas or Diesel engines. QU10704 is compatible with both 1-1/8" and 1-1/4" diameter input shaft splines. QU10704 is made to accept your concentric slave cylinder. This part includes QU10137 Input Bearing Cup and QU10126 Input Seal.

Tech Note 1: Retainer Specs
Approximate dimensions for QU10704 are:
Bellhousing index pilot diameter 5.6".
Pilot for the transmission case 4.1".
Bolt Circle 4.85"

QU10704 is just the retainer, it does NOT include the concentric clutch slave cylinder.

Tech Note 3: Sealants
Early production NV4500 Transmissions used an anaerobic sealant (QU90003) to seal between the main case and bearing retainer. Later production transmissions used black RTV sealant (QU90006 or QU90005). Either type of sealant works fine, but I prefer RTV for this application. Regardless of which sealant you use, make sure excess sealant does not block the lube access hole at the top of pilot that fits into the transmission case. Also, the threaded holes in the main case for the four retainer bolts are open ended, so you must use new bolts with factory applied theadlocker or apply Threadlocker (S24200) to your existing bolts to prevent oil seepage past the bolt threads.
