QU10312 0.100" Thick 1994.5-2007 NV4500 Countershaft 5th Gear Retaining Ring QU10312 fits all New Venture NV4500 Series Countershafts with 0.100"+ Thick Snap Ring Grooves for retaining the countershaft 5th gear. Early production countershafts only a a 0.050"+ thick groove and the thin snap ring was inadequate to hold the 5th gear and synchro assembly on the shaft. A redesigned countershaft with a wider groove was released for Ram during the 1994 model year, but did not entirely replace the thin snap ring countershaft until 1996. Since most NV4500 transmissions have been rebuilt at least once, we suggest you verify the countershaft snap ring groove width on all 1992-1995 model transmissions before ordering. If you have a shaft with the narrow groove, order QU10306.

Tech Note 1: Product Note
The original QU10312 0.100" Thick 1994.5-2007 Countershaft 5th Gear Clutch Snap Ring is no longer available. Use (2) QU10306 0.050" 1992-1994.5 Snap Rings stacked together. The overall thickness and strength remains the same and the QU10306 Snap Rings are less prone to stretching during installation.
