Chevy and GMC used FH-033 3,300 pound rated Standard Dana 44 Closed Knuckle Front Axles with 8 Bolt Steering Ball Seal and Drum Brakes for the 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969 model years. Vehicles equipped with the standard Dana 44 include Blazer, Jimmy, Suburban Chevy K10, GMC K1000, Chevy K20, and GMC K2500 Truck. The Axle Universal Joints used in standard Dana 44 closed knuckle front axles is a Spicer 1310WJ part with 1-1/16” diameter caps and internal lockup type C-Clips.

FH-035 Dana 44HD have a 3,500 pound rating and were an option on 3/4 ton models for the 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969 model years. The Dana 44HD Steering Knuckle has a 12 bolt Knuckle Ball Seal and the King Pins/King Pin Bearings are considerably larger than standard Dana 44 axles. Dana 44HD axles also use larger 1350 series Axle Universal Joints with 1-3/16” diameter caps and external snap rings. 

Most parts are interchangeable between the 2 axle models except for housings, axle shaft, and steering knuckle components.
