QT2076 Input Shaft Pilot Bearing Installer for 2003-2012 Dodge Ram NV271D, NV273D Transfer Cases is a USA made tool accurately machined to seat your QU10904 Input Shaft to Mainshaft Pilot Bearing to the precise depth in your input shaft for the bearing to fully contact the mainshaft nose. QT2076 is specific to New Venture NV271D manual shift and 273D electric shift transfer cases with SLIP YOKE TYPE rear output shafts used on most 2003-2012.5 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 4x4 trucks. The single row pilot bearings used in these cases is deeply recessed in the input shaft. QT2076 tool takes the time wasting guesswork out of installing this critical bearing. Made by us in Montana.

Tech Note 1: Not for Fixed Rear Output Yokes!
QT2076 is not for use with the fixed rear output yoke NV271D and NV273D transfer cases used in Ram 4500, 5500. and 2007-up Ram 3500 Chassis cab trucks with the Cummins Diesel engine. Transfer cases in these trucks use longer double or triple row pilot bearings.

Tech Note 2: NPG-NVG-MPT
When Ford (1999 models) and Dodge (2003 models) first used NV271 and NV273 transfer cases, New Process Gear (NPG) of East Syracuse N.Y. was part of New Venture Gear (NVG). When NVG dissolved, NPG continued on under Chrysler. Chrysler subsequently sold the production rights to Magna, a Canadian automotive parts company. All these name changes are confusing, but the important thing to know is a specific assembly number for any 271F, 271D, 273D, and 273F transfer case is the same and uses the same replacement parts regardless if it was built by New Venture, New Process, or Magna.
