QK4729U Good Used Dana 50, Dana 60 Front Spindle Nut Kit with 4 Slot Spindle Nuts includes one each of these Used genuine Dana Spicer parts: QU40163U Used Outer Spindle Nut, QU40164U Used Spindle Lock Washer, and QU40166U Used Inner Spindle Nut with Pin. This nut set was used by Dodge, Ford, and General Motors on 1 ton and heavy duty 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks with manual lockout hubs. GM 1 tons with Borg automatic hubs also were equipped with this nut set. Tech Note 1: Installation 
The pin pressed into the outer face of QU40166 Inner Spindle Nut MUST line up with one of the holes in QU40164 Spindle Washer. If the pin does not line up with a hole, try to reverse the washer. If the pin still does not slip into one of the holes, remove the washer and make a slight adjustment of the nut which will do the trick.

Tech Note 2: Tools
Adjust the nuts with QT1018, QT1018i or QT1110, QT1110i Spindle Nut Wrenches. For trucks with 4 Slot Double Spindle Nut Sets (QK4729) and 5-Bolt Cap automatic hub-locks, check out our optional, heavy-duty, QT1110i High-Torque Socket which can take the higher torque specifications called for on  auto hub equipped trucks. Both QT1018 and QT1110 series sockets work equally well on axles with manual hubs. The open lug design of QT1018/QT1018i is the better choice when working on an axle that some previous person used a chisel on the nuts instead of a socket as the raised burrs will not affect the socket engagement.

Tech Note 3: Nut Torque Spec
Spindle Nut tightening specifications for these parts will vary widely by make and year. Consult the factory shop manual for your vehicle.

Tech Note 4: 1982-1991 Chevy/GMC K3 Series Dana 60 4x4 Front Axle
GM used 4-piece, 6-Notch QK4728 Spindle Nut Set for 1977-1981 which is not compatible with the automatic hub locks GM introduced for the 1982 model year. QK4729 fits 1982-1991 GM Dana 60 front axles with manual or automatic hub locks. If your 1982-1986 truck still has Auto Hubs, we recommend you use QT1110 or QT1110i High-Torque Socket due to the high 160-205 lb.-ft. outer nut torque value required for auto hub equipped models.

Tech Note 5: 1990.5-1993 Dodge W250, W350 Dana 60, Dana 61 4x4 Front Axles
Dodge used a Double Hex Nut Spindle Nut for Dodge Dana 60/61 axles prior to late production 1990 axles. The hex nut lock washer is hard to bend over the spindle nut with the internally splined wheel hubs used on 1990-1993 Dodge Dana 60 axles so Dodge switched to QK4729 Round Nut and Washer Set during late 1990-1991. The Dodge Parts Book only shows the round nuts for 1992 and 1993, but I worked on a few 1990 and a lot a 1991 trucks that also had them. Spicer lists the round nut set as far back as 1989, but I never worked on a 1989 model year truck that had the round nuts.

Tech Note 6: 1984-1997 Ford F250 and 1984-1985.5 Ford F350 Dana 50IFS Front Axle
Ford lists QK4729 4 Slot Round Spindle Nut Set first being used in Dana 50IFS axles for the 1985 model year. Spicer Bill of Material listings show it back to 1981. My memory is we started seeing the 4 Slot Spindle Nuts in Fords around 1983 or 1984. In 1995, Ford introduced a new 3-Bolt Cap auto hub that uses a single, rounded hex spindle nut. See the exploded view below if your 1995-1997 4x4 has the rounded hex nut.
