QU11288U Used Rear Wheel Hub for 1972-1993 Dodge Dana 60HD, 70 SRW

QU11288U Used 1972-1993 Dodge Dana 60HD and Dana 70 Single Rear Wheel Hub fits Dodge 3/4 and 1 ton Single Rear Wheel (SRW) trucks with Dana full-floating rear axles with 6200 pound or higher axle weight ratings. Over the years, Dodge used this hub with Dana 60, Dana 60HD, and Dana 70 rear axles in both trucks and 1-ton van axles with 12" x 3" rear brakes. Casting number is 97465. Inner bearing cup bore is 3.84". May or may not include removable 7/16" axle studs used for most 1990 and prior applications. Limited to stock on hand!

Tech Note 1: ID
Up until at least mid 1990, Dodge used wheel hubs manufactured by Budd for Dana 70 and high capacity Dana 60 full floating rear axles. Later hubs were made by Bosch. The Budd hubs can be identified by the number 97465 cast on the back side of the hub flange. The number may be all together or separated by a wheel bolt hole. Also, the outboard side of the Budd hub is smaller in diameter next to the hub flange and larger at the outboard end. In contrast, the outside diameter of the outboard side of Bosch supplied hubs are machined to the same diameter from the hub flange out. The Bosch and Budd type hubs are interchangeable even though they look different externally. Most of our QU11288U Budd built hubs will also include eight 7/16" axle shaft drive studs that can be removed if your axle is retained by bolts.

Tech Note 2: For Axles 6200# & up
QU11288U Used Wheel hubs are from Dodge Dana 60, Dana 60HD, or Dana 70 rear axles rated at 6200 pounds or higher. The inner wheel bearing/bearing cup is larger than the outer wheel bearing and cup. These hubs will NOT fit the more common 5500 pound and 5800 pound rated Dana 60 rear axles typically found in Dodge 3/4 ton trucks.

Tech Note 3: Sizes Used
Depending on the year and model, Dodge used different brake drums and wheel studs with QU11288 hubs. Both 1/2" and 5/8" wheel studs were used over the years. The knurl diameter of both sizes of studs is the same. D and W series trucks used 12" brake drums that have an overall width of about 6-1/2". B series vans have 5" wide drums. Brake shoe size was usually 12"x3", but some older trucks were built with 2-1/2" wide brake shoes.

Tech Note 4: Studs
Most if not all Dodge rear axles up to mid 1990 that use QU11288 hub use studs and split tapered cones for axle shaft retention. Axles built from mid 1990 to 1993 used grade 9 hardened bolts to secure the axle shafts to the hub.
