QT1500 Dodge Dana 60HD and Dana 70 Rear Wheel Seal Installer

QT1500 Dodge Dana 60HD and Dana 70 Rear Wheel Seal Installer is specifically made to install QU40450 seals and similar inner wheel seals in 1993 and earlier Dodge 3/4 ton and 1-ton trucks with Dana 60HD and Dana 70 rear axles and single rear wheels. Most of these trucks have a tin outer shield around the back of the wheel hub that is supposed to channel oil from a leaking seal away from the brake shoes. QT1500 is made to pass through the inside diameter of the shield which is only slightly larger than the outside diameter of the seal. Installing a wheel seal without damaging it in these older Dodge trucks is very difficult without the use of this Installer. A relief groove in the installer allows adequate clearance for the outer seal lip, thereby preventing one of the most common causes of premature seal failure. Use with a QT1100 series Installer Handle. Aluminum Installer is Made in U.S.A. by us here in Roberts, Montana.

Tech Note 1: Hub Shield
The restricted diameter of the 1993 and earlier Dodge hub shield prevents the use of a conventional installer like our QT1510 which seats against the hub face.

Tech Note 2: Lubricate
After the seal is installed, lubricate the seal lips with clean wheel bearing grease.
