Tech Note 1: 1988 Designs
1988 R and V series, old square body style Chevy and GMC 3500 series trucks were built with both 1st and 2nd design, 14 Bolt full floating rear axles. This Bearing Cup fits 2nd design axles using an inner pinion bearing cup that is 3-3/4" in diameter. First design axles have an inner pinion bearing cup diameter of 3-1/2" and use Bearing Cup QU50406.

Tech Note 2: Matching Bearing
Always replace the cup and cone at the same time. The matching Bearing Cone is QU50693.

Tech Note 3: Install with Proper Tools
Installing bearing cups using makeshift methods such as a hammer and punch usually results in nicks in the bearing cup and a gouged housing. For a damage free installation, use QT1816 Bearing Cup Installer to seat this cup in your axle housing.
