TS5004 Ball Joint Adapter Set (NO PRESS) for 2003-2013.5 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 with Original Equipment Ball Joints This 6-Piece Ball Joint Adapter Set is specifically tailored to press out and press in original equipment American Axle Manufacturing (AAM) Ball Joints in your 2003 to 2013.5 heavy-duty Dodge or RAM Ram 2500 or Ram 3500 4x4 truck. TS5004 is used to remove and install Ball Joints RAM AAM 925 9-1/4" front axles with 5 link front suspension. Covered models include these 4x4 Ram models: 2003-2013 Ram 2500, 2003-2012 Ram 3500, and 2004-2010 Ram 1500 Mega Cab. Will also work on any aftermarket ball joints made to the original AAM exterior dimensions (See Tech Note below). These tools are an absolutely essential investment for anyone replacing Ball Joints on the big Dodge 4x4s equipped with the AAM 925 front drive axle as the Ball Joints are a very tight press fit in the axle "C" forging. Adapters are made by us here in Montana from U.S. produced steel.

Tech Note 1: QT1065M Specs (Not Included)
QT1065M C-Frame Press Specifications: 8¾" Throat, 7/16" Rotating Tip, 1-1/8" Screw Thread, 2-1/8" Tool Hole, (Replaceable Rotating Tips are supported by a hardened ball).

Tech Note 2: Adapters Fit
The adapters in TS5004 Set will fit any Ball Joints made to the AAM size specifications. Our greaseable Ball Joint Tool Set for the AAM axle are made so QT1067 can be used to install both the Upper and Lower Ball Joints. Our greaseable Ball Joint Tool Set TS5005 is the same as TS5004 except it does not include QT1155 Lower Ball Joint Installer.

Tech Note 3: QT1153 Specs
QT1153 Ball Joint Receiver can accommodate Ball Joints up to a maximum outside diameter of 2.225" (56.515mm). All AAM and most aftermarket Ball Joints do not exceed this size.

Tech Note 4: Before Removing
Unlike older trucks, AAM 9-1/4" Dodge Ram front axle ball joints are pressed into the axle itself, not the steering knuckle, so you can't use a shop press like the 94-99 trucks. I Strongly recommend you use the TS1082 Ball Joint Press Set or TS5005 Ball Joint Adapter Set when removing your old ball joints and pressing the new ones in.

Tech Note 5: Removing
The first time an AAM axle has to come apart, it is usually an absolute WITCH to separate the wheel hub assemblies from the steering knuckle as AAM did not use any anticorrosion compound between the wheel hub flange and steering knuckle. I strongly suggest you get my color illustrated, step by step 6 page Tech Service Bulletin TSB4586 4x4 Dodge Truck Ball Joint Service 9.25 Axle so you know what you are getting into. Almost all the wheel hubs we sell for these AAM axles are to replace original hubs wrecked by slam bang disassembly methods. The good news is, if you properly reassemble your axle, the next time you need to take the hubs off, they will come right off with no trouble at all.
