Description

TS4822 Adjustable Depth Inner Axle Seal Tool Set for 2003-2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon TJ Dana 44 Front Axles. Our unique installer design will press in new your Inner Axle Seals without damage because the CNC Precision Machined Installation Tool cups the seal so only applied on the steel seal shell. Axle Shafts worn or rusty? No problem! Our Install Tool allows you to install either or both Inner Axle Seals to a variable depth to miss grooves worn in your inner axle shafts. Need the seals? Order Optional QU40812 Inner Axle Seals separately or see QK4822 Seal and Tool Kit. Tools USA Made.

NOTE: TS4822 only works with Jeep Dana factory type seals (Our QU40812), it will not work with aftermarket replacement seals!

Tech Note 1: Kit Includes
QT1203 Seal Installer
QT1161 Seal Installer Thrust Plate
QT1189 Press Screw Rod Assembly

Tech Note 2: Seal Placement
For all 2003-2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Dana 44 front axles, two identical axle shaft seals are used. One QU40812 Seal is pressed in the inboard end of each axle tube next to the differential. It is impossible to replace the seals from the outside! You MUST remove the hubs, axle shafts, and differential to replace these seals. QT1032 differential case spreader is definitely recommended but not absolutely required for differential removal/installation.

Tech Note 3: After Removing Seals
After removing the old seals (See optional Removal Tools QK4647, TS4863, QT1144), thoroughly clean the axle tubes to remove crud, grit, and scaly rust.

Tech Note 4: Before Installing
Lubricate the Seal Lips with clean grease before installing the differential to provide initial lubrication. Install the axle shafts dry to minimize the chances of picking up residual grit inside the axle tubes as you slide the axle shafts into position.

Tech Note 5: When Replacing Seals
When replacing your inner axle seals, ALWAYS inspect your Ball Joints, Axle Universal Joints, Differential Bearings, Wheel Bearings, and Axle Shafts for wear or damage. The extra time needed to replace these components is minimal since you already have the axle apart to do the axle seals.

Tech Note 6: Using Installer
TS4822 uses QT1203 adjustable depth installer which allows you to offset the seal to miss a worn spot on the axle shaft. This is a valuable feature, however, YOU have to determine the final depth of the seal. If you are not careful, it is unlikely but possible to seat the seal too deep with which can put the seal beyond the machined seal surface of the axle shaft.

Wrangler TJ Rubicon Dana 44 Front Axles: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006
