Tech Note 1: Fixed or Slip Coupling
QU40886 fits Ford Super Duty® rear driveshafts with either Fixed Coupling or Slip Coupling type Midship spline stubs. On Slip Coupling rear driveshafts where the slip yoke mates with a splined Midship stub, the Driveshaft Center Bearing needs to be pressed on and off your rear driveshaft. See TM3000 Driveshaft and Universal Joint Service Manual or TSB3506 Center Bearing Replacement Service Bulletin for service procedures. On driveshafts with Fixed Couplings, the Center Bearing is usually either a slip fit or slight press fit and it is retained by the end yoke instead of a press on rear slinger.
