QU40849 1310 Series Pinion Yoke for Dana 30, Dana 44, Dana 44IFS, and Dana 50IFS Axles is a USA Made, 26 spline replacement, u-bolt style pinion yoke for front or rear Dana axles from the 1960s to the 1980s. Use with QU40768 U-Bolt Kit. Includes pinion slinger made to match QU40215 Pinion Seal. USA Made.

Tech Note 1: U-Joint Specs
QU40849 takes external snap ring universal joints made to Spicer 1310 series dimensional specifications. The u-joint cup diameter is 1-1/16". The overall width is 3-7/32". For matching u-joints, see TK40720 Torque King® premium non-greaseable universal joint or QU40784 greaseable u-joint with metal backed seals.

Tech Note 2: Anti-Seize, Threadlocker
To keep the u-bolts from becoming rust frozen in your new pinion yoke, apply S9975 Anti-Seize to the unthreaded portion of the legs. Put some S9978 Threadlocker on the nut threads before installing the nuts on the u-bolts. This is such a minor step, but you will be glad you did!

Tech Note 3: Before Installation
Grease the seal lip and pinion yoke seal surface to provide initial lubrication prior to installing the yoke on the axle.

Tech Note 4: Pinion Bearing Preload
Pinion bearing preload on axles that would have had this pinion yoke as original equipment was set by shims.
