Description
QU40848 1330 Series Pinion Yoke for Dana 44 and Dana 50 Axles is a genuine Dana Spicer yoke that fits almost all 1959 to 1993 Dana 44, Dana 44IFS, and Dana 50IFS drive axles. The Yoke is made to match universal joints made to Spicer 1330 series specifications. This Yoke replaces the stock 1330 pinion yoke on most 1959 to 1979 Ford F-150 and F-250 trucks, but the primary application is to retrofit Chevy, Dodge, and GMC Dana 44 front axles to take 1330 series universal joints instead of the undersized stock 1310 or 7260 series front u-joints supplied as original equipment.
Also order QU40735 Strap and Bolt Kit to secure your universal joint to the yoke.

Tech Note 1: QU40848 Specs
QU40848 is 26 spline Dana 44 or Dana 50 pinion yoke made to couple with driveshaft universal joints made to Spicer 1330 specifications. A 1330 u-joint is a 1-1/16" cup diameter, external snap ring type joint that has an overall width of 3-5/8". See TK40721 and QU40774 universal joints.
Tech Note 2: Matching Parts
Matching pinion seal is QU40215 and Pinion Nut is QU40009.
Tech Note 3: U-Joint Bolt Kits
The original equipment Pinion Yokes on Ford 4x4s used u-bolts to secure the front driveshaft universal joint to the pinion yoke, QU40848 differs from the original Ford OEM yoke in that it uses optional QU40735 Strap and Bolt Kit to secure your universal joint to the yoke. Dana stopped producing the 1330 u-bolt style yoke many years ago. The Strap/Bolt configuration may not have quite the tear strength of u-bolts under high-angle situations on lifted trucks, but they do not shorten u-joint life by distorting the u-joint cups like u-bolts were prone to do.
