QU40806 Gold Level 2 Unfinished Heavy Duty 1350CV x 1330 Front U-Joint Greaseable CV Shaft Assembly for 1975-2002 Dodge Ram and 1977-1991 GM is the lowest cost way to replace your worn out Double Cardan Constant Velocity Dodge Ram 4x4 front CV driveshaft with a brand new, totally greaseable, 1-3/16" cup size 1350 series heavy duty Double Cardan Constant Velocity Joint and a 1330 Series front u-joint that you customize for length and complete the final assembly. The 1350, fully greaseable CV Head is already welded to the tube, so all you have to do is determine what length to cut the tube before finishing the assembly. Welding and other machine shop skills and equipment is required to complete assembly!!!! USA Made. Tech Note 1: Angles
The 1994-2002 Dodge original equipment 1-1/16" cup size 1330 series Double Cardan CV Joint is limited to no more than an 18 degree angle. If your big Ram has a lift kit, replacing the original assembly with one of our brand new 1-3-16" cup size 1350 series CV shafts will allow you to run up to a 32 degree CV angle without binding, however be aware that u-joint angles exceeding 20 degrees will result in increased component wear and significant energy loss due to the power required to rotate u-joints at high angles. Also, remember the u-joint angle at the front axle cannot exceed 15 degrees.

Tech Note 2: Modifications
The CV Flange will fit all 1975.5 to 2002 Dodge full size 4x4 transfer case front CV output flanges, however, the 3-5/8" wide x 1-1/16" cup size front universal joint that comes with this shaft only fits 2000-2002 model year trucks.

1975-1992 W-350 Dana 60 w/ Gas Engine: Replace your Pinion Yoke with QU40509 & QU40735 Strap Kit
1989-1992 W-250, W-350 Diesel: Replace your Pinion Yoke with QU40509 Yoke and QU40735 Strap Kit
1993 Diesel W-250, W-350: Order QU40764 U-Joint to replace included QU40774 U-Joint
1994-1999: Order QU40764 U-Joint to replace included QU40774 U-Joint
2000-2002: No modifications required if your front universal joint is 3-5/8" wide and it has 1-1/16' diameter cups

Tech Note 3: Boot
Optional QU50233 Boot can be used in place of the included Slip Yoke Seal. The Boot can extend Slip Joint life because it does provide a water-tight seal for the upper end of the Slip Yoke, however you still have to periodically grease the slip yoke since the Slip Yoke vent can allow water to enter the lower end of the Slip Yoke.

Tech Note 4: Tech Help
Cut your driveshaft tubing to a length that will have the slip yoke at the midpoint of it's travel over the non-splined segment of the stub with the trucks weight on the front axle. Driveshaft assembly can be done by any competent machinist, but best results are usually obtained from dedicated driveshaft specialists who can both finish and balance the finished shaft. Tech Note 5: Upgrade Entire Front Shaft
If you wish to upgrade your entire front shaft to 1350 series, order QU40924 or TK11385 1350 x 1350 front shafts and the appropriate 1350 pinion yoke and hardware.
