Tech Note 1: U-Joint Specs
TK40722 is a 7290 series u-joint that uses internal C-Clips for retention, has 1-1/8" diameter cups and fits yokes measuring 2-5/8" between the ears.

Tech Note 2: Tech Help
More universal joints and driveshaft yokes are wrecked by slam-bang methods of u-joint replacement than by any other cause. Refer to TM3000 Driveshaft and Universal Joint Manual or TSB3504 Internal C-Clip Single-Cardan U-Joint Service.

Tech Note 3: Torque King U-Joints
The cross on Torque King® universal joints is cold-forged instead of hot-forged like conventional universal joints. The cold-forged cross has a more consistent grain structure and harder journals making it highly resistant to wear from the bearing rollers. The Long-lasting, high quality, factory applied lubrication is kept in and contaminants are kept out an o-ring type, internal triple lip cup seal protected by an outer plastic deflector. Under almost any conditions, a properly installed Torque King® universal joint will outlast any conventional greaseable universal joint by a wide margin especially in Diesels rear driveshaft applications.
