Tech Note 1: Before Installing
Lightly coat the pinion yoke seal surface with clean grease before installing the yoke on the axle.
Tech Note 2: Shallow Shell
This is a shallow shell seal that is not interchangeable with the QU40411 deep shell seals used on 2000.5 to 2005 Model 50 axles. The Axle Tag Number will be 610999 or lower.
Tech Note 3: 1999 and later
For 1999 and later applications, this seal is part of a two seal set, order QU40405 V-Seal separately.
Tech Note 4: When Installing
Great care must be taken when installing this seal to insure that the face and body are not distorted.

Most Model 50 equipped F-250, F-350: 1999, 2000
Most Ford Excursion: 2000
Fits Axle Tag Numbers: 610654, 610659, 610892, 610893, 610979, 610992, 610993, 610999. If your axle tag number is 611071 or above, use QU40411 seal.
