TK12006 Torque King Premium Complete NV5600 Bearing and Seal Kit

TK12006 Torque King® Premium Complete NV5600 Bearing and Seal Kit for New Venture NV5600 6 speed manual transmissions in 1999 to 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks. Kit includes original equipment quality tapered roller bearings and needle bearings as specified by New Venture/MTM. Many of the tapered roller bearings are Timken; the pilot bearing may be Timken or Koyo. Needle bearings are mostly supplied by Torrington. Mostly made in U.S.A. However, some pieces are imported.

Tech Note 1: Kit Quality
Common Question: "Is there a real difference in quality between your Torque King® and Custom Kits? The answer is yes. The difference is the consistently precise fit and outstanding quality control that are hallmarks of Timken Original Equipment Bearings. The components in our Torque King® Kits meet or exceed the original equipment New Venture specs because most components are the exact makes and part numbers used by New Venture. Our Custom Kits use parts from well-known aftermarket suppliers. They are quality parts, but since these are aftermarket parts, they do not have to meet original equipment specs.

Tech Note 2: Input Seals
This Kit includes two Input Seals. The Outside Diameter is the same for all years, but the 1999 and 2000 transmissions use a Seal with a smaller Inside Diameter compared to the Seal required for 2001-2005 units with the 1-3/8" input shaft.

Tech Note 3: Rear Output Seals
This Kit includes Rear Output Seals for both 4x2 and 4x4 NV5600 transmissions.

Tech Note 4: Inner Needle Bearing Races
The Inner Needle Bearing Races are replaceable for 1st, 4th, and reverse gears. These three Races are NOT included in this Kit! Order QU12041 1st, QU10421 4th, and QU12042 reverse steel inner races as needed. All the other needle bearings ride directly on the shafts, so if a shaft bearing surface is damaged beyond what can be polished up by a machine shop, you will need to replace the entire shaft.

Tech Note 5: Gasket
Dodge did not use a gasket or gasket sealer between the transmission and transfer case and none is needed as both the transmission and transfer case are sealed. If you would like to install a gasket, order TK10519.

Tech Note 6: Wear
Accelerated bearing wear or major bearing failures on NV5600 transmissions are usually caused by lubrication related issues. Low oil levels are real bearing killers, as is contaminated or incorrect oil. The heavy and complex NV5600 is not a cheap or super easy transmission to rebuild. To maximize bearing life install a QK1015 Filter Kit plus check and change your oil regularly.
