QU11212 Shim Gasket (compression seal), Rear Case to Rear Output Housing for 1998-2001 Dodge Ram 1500 NP231DHD Transfer Case Is a genuine New Process original equipment part for all 1998-2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 trucks with NP231DHD chain drive aluminum transfer cases. QU11212 is both a shim and a gasket. The metal plate insures correct mainshaft to input shaft spacing is maintained and the raised rubber ring forms a leak-proof seal between your rear case half and rear bearing retainer.

OEM fit & Function
We recently rebuilt our NP 231D and both videos on youtube showed replacing this with RTV. I am OCD to an extent and I generally feel that there is a reason the factory installed a part. If there was not they would save a bunch of money by omitting it. All that said we looked at about 50 websites for this before finding it here. It fit EXACTLY as the OEM piece did and when we put the calipers on it the thickness matched also. GOOD STUFF!
