QU10189 New Process Transfer Case Rear Extension Assembly is a genuine NPG part that includes factory installed QU10130 Rear Driveshaft Support Bushing and QU10610 Rear Output Seal. QU10189 is specific to 1994-2001.5 Dodge NP241 series transfer cases, but it fits a host of other New Process aluminum chain drive transfer cases with 32 spline output shafts including 2001.5-2002 Dodge NP241DLD models.

Tech Note 1: QU10189 vs. QU11054
QU10189 and QU11054 are totally interchangeable as the only difference between the two parts is construction differences of the rear seal. Both Seals have extended Dust Boots and are made to fit the same slip yokes. The housings are the same as is the support bushing.

Tech Note 2: QU50369
NP231 Rear Retainer QU50369 has the same bolt pattern, bearing bore, length, seal size and bushing as QU10189 and QU11054 but it should not be used in place of QU10189 and QU11054 because the bolt tabs are not reinforced. QU50369 is intended for 1/2 ton and smaller 4x4s with standard NP231 or similar size light duty transfer cases.

Tech Note 3: Use RTV
QU10189 is at the back of the transfer case. It bolts to the rear bearing retainer with 4 bolts. RTV sealant is used between the two parts.

Tech Note 4: New Venture/New Process/Magna
New Venture was formed as a joint venture between Chrysler's New Process Gear and General Motor's Hydromatic-Muncie transmission divisions in 1990. Chyrsler bought out GM's New Venture stake in February of 2002. Chyrsler later sold New Venture to Magna, a Canadian automotive parts company. All these name changes are confusing, but the important thing to know is a specific assembly number for any New Process/New Venture transfer case is the same and uses the same replacement parts regardless if it was built by New Venture, New Process, or Magna.
