All 1994 to 1997 Dodge NP241DHD transfer cases have a speedometer drive gear, but there are two different gears depending upon if the transfer case has a 31 or 32 spline rear output shaft. An 1-3/8" diameter 32 spline output shaft with 38 splines for the speedometer gear was used on most 1994-1996 NP241DHD transfer cases. A stronger, 1-5/8" diameter 31 spline output shaft was phased in during the 1996 model year. The speedometer drive gear for the 1996.5-1997 1-5/8" x 31 spline output shaft is no longer available.
