From 1975 through 1980, most Dodge Dana 60 front axles used pinion yokes for the small Spicer 1310 series universal joint, although you will find 7260 series joints in some 1975.5-1980 trucks. From 1981 through 1992, the even smaller Detroit 7260 u-joint was original equipment. Dodge finally saw the light and fitted almost all of 1993 model year trucks with the adequate sized Detroit 7290 series universal joint which was desperately needed with trucks powered by the Cummins Diesel engine.
If your 1989-1993 Diesel truck with the 7260 series u-joint is lifted and you are experiencing axle binding, you will need to upgrade your slip yoke and pinion yoke to 1330 series parts. Click here for a parts list.
