Except for the backup light switch and some 4x4 transmission to transfer case applications, the New Venture NV4500 DOES not use any paper gaskets. For sealing other surfaces, both RTV Sealant and Anaerobic sealants were used on early transmissions. Around 1998, New Venture switched to using RTV sealant for all mating surfaces including the input bearing retainer, PTO covers, rear housing to main case, top cover, and bottom side of the shift tower spacer.
