Almost all the 1984.5-1993 Dodge Dana 70 Rear Axles are equipped with Bendix 12" rear drum brakes. The brake shoe width varied from 2.5" to 3.0" depending upon the exact application. At this time, we mainly stock the important, but hard to find and out of production parking brake mounting hardware. Most 1987-1993 Dodge Ram 250 and Ram 350 trucks are equipped with anti-lock brakes. The rear axle ABS system used on this era of Dodge trucks is rather crude by today's standards. The signal is generated by a toothed steel tone ring (QU40290) pressed on the differential case next to the ring gear. A magnetic pickup is located in the top of the axle housing above the tone ring. Since the unit is sensing differential speed and not the speed of either rear wheel, it can not be used to selectively apply the individual rear brakes.
