Depending upon the year, several different front axle shaft configurations are found for the Dodge AAM 925 front beam axle used on 2003 and newer Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 4x4 trucks. The good news is for a given year, there is only one axle shaft part number for each side regardless if the truck has single or dual rear wheels. The biggest change was the use of a larger axle universal joint for 2010 and newer axles. We stock both complete axle shaft assemblies and individual inner and outer axle shafts.
The AAM Front Drive Axle used on 2003-2009 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 4x4 trucks uses axle u-joints that have a unique lock-up dimension. However, even though the u-joints are very similar in overall size to those used on the Dana axles previously used by Dodge, the u-joints are not interchangeable which has led to some real problems from trying to force u-joints made for Dana axles into AAM axle shafts due to gross catalog application errors by almost all aftermarket u-joint suppliers. Our AAM and Torque King® axle shaft universal joints are made to fit your Dodge AAM 925 axle shaft yokes. 2010 and newer axles use a larger axle universal joint.
