We stock a wide selection of parts and Tools for 1976 and 1977 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Dana 60 open knuckle front drive axles with King Pins. The open knuckle, monobeam, Dana-Spicer Model 60 front axle introduced in the 1976 model year F-250 Crew Cab was primarily marketed to fleet users. The new axle, which was rated for only 3800 pounds, replaced the closed knuckle, 3800 pound rated Dana 60 axle found on 1973-1975 F-250 Crew Cab trucks. In addition to an open knuckle design, the new axle boosted a sharper turning angle, disc brakes, and less maintenance.
The low, 3800 pound weight rating was due in part to the Model 44 sized front wheel hub and axle shaft pieces. The 1976-1977 axle shafts, spindles wheel hubs, and free-running hubs which unique to these axles. King Pin and differential components are mostly the same as used on contemporary competitive vehicles. The Ford Dana 60 was re-engineered for 1978.
