QU40074 Dodge Inner Wheel/Outer Axle Shaft V-Seal for 1974-1979 Dodge Ramcharger, and 1974 -1979 W100, W150, W200, W250 Dodge 4x4 trucks with the Dana-Spicer Model 44 Live Spindle Front Axle. QU40074 functions as the Inner Wheel Seal fitting over QU40073 Outer Axle Shaft Slinger and sealing against QU40072 Cup pressed in the steering knuckle. Made in Europe.

Tech Note 1: No Lockout Hubs
These trucks did not have lockout hubs, instead, the outer axle shaft is threaded for a castellated nut.

Tech Note 2: Product Note
QU40074 V-Seal is designed to allow excess grease from over greasing to escape past the seal. Early production 1974 models without greaseable wheel bearings used QU50206 Seal for both the inner (axle shaft) and outer (wheel hub) wheel seals. If you have greaseable wheel bearings (grease fitting in bearing retainer), you can replace QU40072, QU40073, QU40074 3 Piece Outer Axle Shaft Seal Set with QU50206 Seal, however, EXTREME CARE must be taken when greasing your wheel bearings to prevent the Seal from being forced out of the knuckle! When used as the inner seal, the seal contacts the outer axle shaft directly. The V-seal, cup, and slinger found on later models are not used.
