Description
How Do I ID my 2003-2009 Dodge Ram Front CV Driveshaft Slip Yoke? A new slip yoke design (Type 2) was used from for some 2006-2009 Ram front CV driveshafts and for all 2010 and newer Ram 2500, Ram 3500 applications. The most obvious difference is the location of the protective boot. The Type 2 shaft uses a male spline yoke shaft and has the boot attached to the yoke shaft near the u-joint yoke. Older style Type 1 Shafts have a female spline slip yoke. The boot attaches to the inboard end of the yoke barrel. The Type 2 Slip Yoke is also found on late production original equipment replacement shafts.
