The 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty Dana 60 Front Axle has the pinion mounted above the axle centerline, and it uses a reverse rotation gear set which means standard Dana 60 gearing can not be used with this axle.

Unless your axle has run out of oil or it is severely abused, you will probably never have to replace your original ring and pinion set unless you are doing a gear ratio change. We have available genuine Dana Ring & Pinion Kits plus a wide selection of replacement gearing for both stock and performance applications. We have gear sets available from 3.54 to 5.38 ratios.
