Tech Note 1: Safety Warning! Do Not Reuse Stock Nuts 
Dan the Gear Man Safety Warning: Stock Elastic Stop Spindle Nuts and Lock Wedges used on 1994-2002 Dodge Ram Dana 60, Dana 70, and 80 rear axles are designed to be installed once and only once! For safety reasons, you must discard both the nut and wedge if they are removed from the spindle for any reason. Both parts lose a percentage of their resistance of coming off when they are removed. You may hear of cases where this type of factory nut has come off while the truck was being driven. Invariably, these failures involve nuts and wedges that have been reused or improperly installed. NEVER REUSE FACTORY ELASTIC STOP SPINDLE NUTS and LOCK WEDGES!!!!!

Tech Note 2: OE Nut Note
(Also see Tech Note 1!) This is a great Kit, but you should know the original equipment QU40118 single nut and QU40115 lock wedge is perfectly adequate for keeping your rear hubs in place IF they are: 
A) Properly Installed. 
B) NEVER Reused

Tech Note 3: Safety Warning! Do Not Reuse TK40051 Spindle Nut Lock Washers
Customer Statement: "Nonreusable? Dan what are you talking about? I always reuse them until all the tabs break off!" Well guys, for safety reasons, TK40051 spindle lock washers must be discarded after every use. That means any time you bend up a tab to readjust or remove the spindle nuts. Why? Metal fatigue. The lock tabs lose some of their strength after they are straightened out. Also, the inside tab that fits in the spindle keyway has a tendency to shear when the outer nut is tightened against it more than one time. Reusing a bend over tab lockwasher may save you a few dollars, but by doing so you might kill yourself and others when you lose a hub and wheel going 75 mph down the Interstate. Please Note: An extra set of TK40051 Spindle Lock Washers is included in both TK8373 and TK8374 Kits.

Tech Note 4: Inner Thrust Washer
One of the big problems with the original equipment single nut, is the tendency for the outer wheel bearing inner race to wear into the nut. The TK40038 Inner Thrust Washer eliminates this problem thereby extending bearing life and reducing the chance of having a rear wheel seal leak.

Tech Note 5: Wheel Bearing Lubrication
Under operating conditions, the rear wheel bearings are bathed in oil from the differential, but they do need to be pre-lubricated to provide initial lubrication. See optional VSG4011 Video for wheel bearing replacement and lubrication procedures.
