Tech Note 1: Replaces
QU10994 replaces these 3 parts: Sprocket Carrier (QU11084 is 2nd design #), One Way Clutch (QU11085 is 2nd design #) Mainshaft Mode Clutch Gear, and two QU10905 or QU10902 Snap Rings (Snap Rings are different depending upon year of original parts). With QU10994, One QU10902 Snap Ring is still used to retain the Sprocket.

Ford NV271F, NV273F: Motorcraft Transfer Case Fluid 1.9-2.1 quarts
Dodge Ram NV271F, NV273F: Mopar ATF+4 2 quarts (1.89 Liters)
Chevy and GMC NV 273: AC Delco Manual Transmission and Transfer Case Fluid 2 quarts (1.89 Liters)

*Ford Note: Early production Transfer Cases specified Mercon or Mercon II Automatic Transmission Fluids. These early Mercon fluids have been replaced by Mercon V which Ford does not recommend using in Transfer Cases. For ALL 1999-2016 Ford NV271F and NV273F Transfer Cases, use Motorcraft Transfer Case Fluid.

Tech Note 4: NPG-NVG-MPT
In 1998, when Ford (1999 models) and Dodge (2003 models) first used NV271 and NV273 transfer cases, New Process Gear (NPG) of East Syracuse N.Y. was part of New Venture Gear (NVG). When NVG dissolved, NPG continued on under Chrysler. Chrysler subsequently sold the production rights to Magna, a Canadian automotive parts company. All these name changes are confusing, but the important thing to know is a specific assembly number for any 271F, 271D, 273D, and 273F transfer case is the same and uses the same replacement parts regardless of it was built by New Venture, New Process, or Magna.
