QU50818 Warn 9072 Premium, all metal, 6 Bolt, External Mount Free-Wheel Manual Locking Hub Set with ZA alloy dial fits many 1956-1977 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton 4x4s with Dana 44 or Dana 44HD front axles. Warn 9072 Hub Set includes 2 M197 Hubs, 12 mounting bolts, 12 lockwashers, 12 flat washers, 12 dial screws, 2 hub dial gaskets, and instructions. Each Hub also features an o-ring to seal between the hub body and your wheel hub. The WARN 9072/M197 Premium Hub is a no-compromise hub designed for the hardcore off-roader or truck owner who will accept nothing less than the industry standard in performance. 6 Bolt x 3.75" Bolt Circle. Mates with 1-1/4"-19 spline axle shafts. Fits Chevy (1960-1977), Dodge (1957-1975), Ford (1959-1977), GMC (1960-1977), IHC (1956-1972), and Jeep (1974-1977) 3/4 ton 4x4 front axles with external mount type wheel hubs. Also fits 1957-1968 Dodge W-100 4x4.
The heavy-duty dial with dual seals requires a full 9/10ths of a turn to ensure positive engagement of the inner drive gear to the clutch ring. Tech Note 1: Product Specs
QU50818 Bolt Circle is 3-3/4". Your matching 1-1/4" diameter axle shafts will 19 splines. The bolt thread is 3/8" coarse.
Tech Note 2: Threadlocker
Apply Blue Threadlocker to the bolt threads for maximum retention.
Tech Note 3: Wear
It is pretty common to find the bolt holes in a wheel hub are worn from loose bolts. It is also pretty common to have one or more rusted in bolts broken off flush with the wheel hub face. On most of these vintage wheel hubs, you can have a machine shop drill and tap 6 new bolt holes between the original holes. Bolting your new hub set to a wheel hub with damaged holes will just about guarantee you will have problems.
Tech Note 4: O-Rings, No Gaskets
QU50818 Hubs use factory installed o-rings instead of gaskets to seal between the lockout hub body and your wheel hub.
