Applications

Tech Note 1: Lubricate Seal Lip
Lubricate the seal lip with clean grease to provide initial lubrication before installing the wheel hub to the steering knuckle.

Tech Note 2: Axles
This Wheel Seal fits Dana 44 front axles in 1957-1974 Dodge, 1955-1975 International, and 1969-1973 Jeep 4x4 trucks with front spindles that have 1-3/4' threads and wheel hubs that are drilled and tapped with 6 3/8" holes in a 3-3/4" bolt circle to mount an external drive flange or lockout hub. This Wheel Seal is NOT used on any other production 4x4 that I know of. Except for 1972-1973 IHC 1210, all the axles that use this seal are of the closed knuckle design.

Tech Note 3: IHC and Jeep
International and Jeep truck year and model application information is often difficult to precisely list due to the relatively low production numbers and the fact that both manufacturers often built special purpose vehicles for government and vocational applications. Regardless of the application information, if you have a front spindle with 1.750" thread, QU50704 is the correct part for your 4x4.
