Tech Note 1: Wear Areas
The NP241DHD Range Fork Sleeve is subject to wear in three places: The clutch teeth, Bearing Surface, and Hub/Snap ring area. Of the three, the most likely problem area is where the QU50151 Hub fits. It is not uncommon to find the shoulder, hub surface, and snap ring groove chewed up. There can be several causes including lubrication issues, mainshaft snap ring failures, and range fork (QU50144 on 1994-1997, QU50078 on 1998-2002) wear.

Tech Note 3: Replaces QU11047 for 52105027AD Transfer Cases
NP241DHD Transfer Cases used two different range Sleeves. From the factory, all models except 52105027AD used QU50150 Range Sleeve which has clutch teeth with dual cut, tapered ends to facilitate shifting on vehicles that had Central Axle Disconnect (CAD). With a CAD front axle the front driveshaft does not turn in 4x2 mode so the dual cut ends made it easier to engage the non-rotating, synchronized transfer case front output shaft on the go. Transfer case model number 52105027AD was only used on 2001-2002 trucks that did not  have CAD front axles. Since the front driveshaft is always turning the transfer case front output shaft when the vehicle is moving, no synchronizer ring is needed and a single, cheaper to make angle cut clutch tooth could be used. Since the QU11047 Range Sleeve for the 52105027AD transfer case is now out of production and no longer available, you can replace it with the QU50150 Range Sleeve with no problems as the clutch tooth difference does not affect shifting on vehicles with non-CAD front axles.
