TK4948 Torque King® Master Free-Spin Kit with Dynatrac DynaLoc™ Heavy-Duty Lock Out Hubs with Axle U-Joints and Install Tools for 1994-1999 Dodge Ram 2500, Ram 3500 trucks with single rear wheels. Includes all the parts, special assembly tools, and extras needed to upgrade your heavy-duty Ram 4x4's front axle to low-cost serviceable wheel bearings and your choice of fuel-saving lockout hubs. The heart of all these comprehensive Kits are USA made Dynatrac Front Free-Spin™ Hub Kit which includes heat-treated chromoly spindles with spindle bearing, spindle seals, Timken® wheel bearings, Timken® or Dana wheel seals, 35-spline 1.50-inch chromoly outer shafts, 8 bolt wheel hubs, your choice of Hub Locks, double spindle nut kit, and instructions. PLUS, our comprehensive Master Kits ALSO include Spindle Nut Socket, Torque King® greaseable Axle U-Joints, wheel seal tools, bearing packer, synthetic wheel bearing grease, threadlocker, and anti-seize compound. NOTE: The 1994-1999 Dynatrac Wheel Hubs and Axle Shafts are NOT compatible with trucks having 4 Wheel ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System). Tech Note 3: Kit Differences
The only component difference between TK4947, TK4948, and TK4955 Kits is the lock out hubs. TK4947 is the most popular, which includes TK56120 Warn Premium Hubs. TK4948 includes TK20478 heavy-duty Dynaloc™ Hubs. TK4955 comes with QU56112 Mile Marker Stainless Steel Hubs.
All three Kits include the following Components:

Tech Note 4: Ram 3500 Dually
If you have a Dodge Ram 3500 dually, your factory dual wheel hub adapters will have to be changed as they have insufficient clearance for the new lockout hubs included in our Kits. Order optional QU42072 Dual Wheel Adapter Set.

Tech Note 5: Anti-Lock Brakes
TK4948 Kits are only compatible with trucks equipped with Rear Wheel Anti-Lock Brake Systems. There are no provisions for an axle shaft ABS tone ring (used on 1994-1997 models with 4 wheel ABS) or hub mounted tone ring (used on 1998-1999 trucks with 4 wheel ABS).

Tech Note 6: Will NOT fit Dana 44 Axles
TK4948 Kits fit 1994-1999 Dodge Ram 2500, Ram 3500 with Rear Wheel ABS, Dana 60 front axles and a Gross Vehicle Weight rating of 8800 pounds or higher. These Kits will NOT fit 1994-1997 Ram 2500 trucks with Dana 44 axles which have a GVW rating under 8800 pounds.

Tech Note 7: Disassembly/Assembly
To install TK4948 Kit, you need to remove the original hubs and axle shafts. Depending upon age, mileage, and use, your truck may also need inner axle shaft oil seals, ball joints, brake parts, or pinion seal. Inspect the axle before disassembly for worn or damaged parts and order those extra parts/tools you desire for a first class job.  Given the era of trucks this Kit fits, I STRONGLY recommend you replace the inner axle seals which can become hard and brittle with age. Tech Note 10: Inspect
TK4948 Kits include two TK40724 Torque King® Premium Greaseable axle universal joints pre-installed in your new outer axle shafts. To install this Kit, you need to remove the original hubs and axle shafts. Depending upon age, mileage, and use, your truck may also need inner axle shaft oil seals, ball joints, brake parts, or pinion seal. Inspect the axle before disassembly for worn or damaged parts and order those extra parts/tools you desire for a first class job.

Tech Note 11: Front Axle Disassembly
The first time a 1994-1999 era Ram 2500, Ram 3500 Dana 60 front axle has to come apart, it is usually an absolute WITCH to separate the factory wheel hub assemblies from the steering knuckle as Dana did not use any anti-corrosion compound between the wheel hub flange and steering knuckle. The good news is since you are replacing the original hubs, you do not have to worry about them separating or getting damaged during the removal process.

Installing a Dynatrac Free-Spin™ Kit is a great improvement over the factory live spindle design, but the troublesome vacuum controlled Central Axle Disconnect (CAD) system is still there. You have three choices for the CAD system.
