Tech Note 1: Matching U-Joints
QU40844 Slip Yoke takes external snap ring type universal joints made to Spicer 1410 series specifications. The u-joint cup diameter is 1-3/16". The overall u-joint width is 4-3/16". See TK40705 and QU40789 universal joints. If your 1410 series Driveshaft takes a 14 based on 16 spline Slip yoke and the approximate measurement from the center of the u-joint hole to the end of the spline is between 7-1/4" and 7-3/8", then this is the part you need.

Tech Note 2: Spline Counts
Spline Counts can be confusing, but the important thing to remember is that a double width spline is equal to 2 single width splines. This 14 spline slip stub will fit 14 spline, 15 spline, and 16 spline slip stubs since they are all based on a 16 spline standard. A 14 spline slip stub will have 12 regular spline and 2 opposed double width splines. A 15 spline stub has 14 regular spline and one double width spline. A 16 spline yoke has 16 splines. The double width splines are used to ensure you assemble the yokes in phase.

Tech Note 3: Application Exception
Almost all 1994-2002 Ram 2500 trucks with two piece rear driveshafts will use this Slip Yoke. The exception is very light duty 2500 trucks with Chrysler semi-float rear 9.25" axles.
