QU40841 Driveshaft U-Bolt Kit for Ford 1330F Driveshaft U-Joints fits many 1979 to 1997 Ford axle, transfer case, and transmission yokes that use universal joints with two 1-1/8" diameter bearing cups for the gearbox/axle yokes. Use this Kit to replace broken or stripped original u-bolts. USA Made.

The matching universal joints are TK40723 and QU40903.

Tech Note 1: Ford Specific Yokes
QU40841 U-Bolt is made to fit Ford specific yokes for Spicer series 1330F series universal joints. These u-joints have 1-1/16" diameter cups pressed in the driveshaft yoke, and 1-1/8" cups bolted to the axle or transfer case yoke. The larger diameter cups have thicker walls which are more resistant to deformation from the u-bolts that attach the universal joint to the gear box yoke on these older vehicles. The u-bolts have 5/16" shanks and the legs measure 1.573" from center to center.

Tech Note 2: Lubrication
To keep the u-bolts from becoming rust frozen in the yokes, apply S9975 or S81343 Anti-Seize to the unthreaded portion of the legs. Put some S9978 or S24200 Threadlocker on the nut threads before installing the nuts on the u-bolts.

Tech Note 3: Torque Specifications
Torque the nuts to the specification listed in your factory Shop Manual or my TM3000 Driveshaft and Universal Joint Manual or TSB3510 Driveshaft Tech: Vibration, Balance, Angles, Runout and Torque Specifications.
