Description
QU40600 1-1/2° Dana Factory Upper Ball Joint Camber Bushing with 0° Caster Change for 1980-1997 Ford Dana 44IFS and Dana 50IFS Twin Traction Beam® Front Axles used in full size Bronco, F150, F250, and F350 4x4s. This is the factory stock offset Bushing used for production axles from 1985-1997. The 1985-1997 factory installation was to offset the camber in a negative direction, however, the bushing can be rotated 180 degrees for a positive camber change and it will fit any 1980-1997 Ford Dana 44IFS or Dana 50IFS front axle. These are New Old Stock (NOS) genuine Dana Spicer parts that will be available until supplies are exhausted. See our complete List of Camber Bushings for Ford Dana 44IFS and Dana 50IFS front axles.

Applications
Tech Note 1: Ford IFS Camber Overview
Ford Dana 50IFS Twin Traction Beam® (TTB) Front Axles often need a Camber Angle Change for optimum tire wear and handling. The axle beams pivot up and down as the suspension articulates which constantly changes both the camber angle and toe-in but usually the effect on wear and steering is minimal if the front end is properly aligned to begin with. Sagging springs, lift kits, snow plows, winches, heavy loads, and big trailers can all change the camber angle significantly which can increase tire wear and impair steering. Permanent or frequent ride height changes from suspension or load modifications will usually require adjusting the camber (and sometimes caster) to maximize tire life and steering control. Tire edge wear can be an issue with these axles because the tire camber (the difference between the vertical axis of the front wheels and the vertical axis of the vehicle when viewed from the front) will change depending upon load and the condition of the leaf springs. Camber and Caster can be adjusted by using a different offset upper Ball Joint Bushing.
Tech Note 2: Changing Camber and/or Caster
To change Camber or Caster on 1980-1996 Ford Dana 44IFS or 1980-1997 Dana 50IFS Axles, you use an offset Upper Ball Joint Bushing that wil move the steering knuckle in the desired direction(s). These Bushings do have a tendency to rust-in, but they are easily removed with a puller. Except for the 0 degree offset bushing all the Upper Ball Joint Camber and Caster Bushings are adjustable to at least 2 positions. Most are adjustable to 8 positions. Before changing a bushing, you need to determine what offset the existing Bushing is before you can select a replacement. Except for early production axles, it is unusual to find a 0 degree offset bushing in a Ford Dana 44 or 50 IFS front axle.
Tech Note 3: Apply Anti-Seize Compound
Apply Anti-Seize Compound to the ID and OD of the Bushing before installation to prevent corrosion.
