Applications
Tech Note 1: Bare Hub
QU20382U is a bare, internal spline, front wheel hub with a 8 x 6-1/2" bolt circle. The brake drum, bearing cups and wheel studs are NOT included.
Tech Note 2: Drum Brakes
All 1969.5-1975 Ford F250 4x4 trucks were built with front drum brakes. Factory disc brakes did not appear until 1976.
Tech Note 3: Verify Hub
QU20382U Hub was used by Ford on 3300 pound standard capacity Dana 44 front axles from mid 1969 to 1975. My 1964-1972 Ford Parts Book has the 1969 hub part number break point listed differently in the hub (to serial number F70000) and axle parts (to serial number F30000) sections. I believe the hub section is correct, but if your 1969 4x4 has a VIN between F30000 and F70001, you should physically verify which hub you need. The Break point is determined by the 1969 Serial or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

VIN 30001 to F70000: Physically Identify Hub before ordering
QU20382U Hub with 3.3" Seal Bore fits 1969 Ford F250 4x4 trucks after serial number F70000 (plus all 1970-1975 Ford F250 4x4 trucks with the standard Dana 44 front axle).
Tech Note 4: Lube
Before installing your new wheel bearings, pack them with QU90018 Pyroplex® grease or other quality, disc brake rated, NLGI Grade 2 wheel bearing grease. I recommend you use QT5500 Wheel Bearing Packer to pack the bearings, but however you pack the bearings, your grease has to be clean and it MUST fill all the air spaces under the cage and between the bearing rollers.
Tech Note 5: Use Installer
To prevent damage to your hub bores and to protect the finely ground wheel bearing cup surfaces, always use specific-fit bearing cup installers to install your new bearing cups instead of a punch or other make shift methods.
Tech Note 6: New Wheel Seal
For best results, install a new wheel seal (QU90001) with QT1502 Seal Installer. QT1502 installer will not damage, ding, or bend the wheel seal and it keeps tension on the seal garter spring so the spring does not jump off the lip (a very common problem with makeshift seal installation methods).
