Tech Note 1: Spicer U-Joints
TK11311 is a special left inner axle shaft that allows the use Spicer 1480WJ axle universal joints instead of AAM 1485WJ axle u-joints in 2003-2009 Dodge Ram AAM 9-1/4" front axles. TK11311 has an internal c-clip type retention and 1-3/8" diameter cups. The span between the yoke ears is 3" which is 0.80" wider than the original AAM Joint. The primary application of TK11310 is in 2003-2009 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks upgraded with either Dynatrac Free-Spin® or Yukon Spin Free® Rebuildable Front Hub and Lockout Kits which have outer axle shafts that are also made to Spicer 1480WJ dimensions. The available 1480WJ u-joint options are:
QU30332 (greaseable hot-forged cross, not for performance applications)
TK40715 (Premium non-greaseable cold forged cross)
TK40724 (Premium greaseable cold forged cross).
