Differential Bearings and Bearing Cups specific to 1961-1971 Dana 27 Dana 27AF Front Axles are Listed Below. The 1961 IHC Scout was the first production 4x4 to use the new Dana 27F front axle when it was introduced in 1960 as a 1961 model year vehicle. Jeep started using the Dana 27F during the 1961 model year for CJ5 (serial numbers 57548-121247 to 57548-127473), and CJ-6 (serial numbers 57748-19314 to 57748-20035) before reverting back to the Model 25. From 1962 to possibly as late as 1965, Jeep concurrently used both the Model 25 and Model 27F axles for CJ models. Jeep also used the Dana 27 in 1967-1971 Jeepster Commandos. See the chart in the Axle Identification Section to identify a Jeep Dana 27 front axle by bearing cup sizes.

NOTE: in Jeep Factory Parts Books, the Dana-Spicer Model 27F is referred to as the Model 27.
