Except for the Differential Side Gears, 1984.5-1993 Dodge D (4x2) and W (4x4) trucks with Dana 70 Rear Axles and Open Differentials use the same internal parts inside the differential. 35 Spline Side Gears are found in 1984.5-1990 axles and 32 Spline Side Gears equip 1991-1993 axles.
1991-1993 Dodge Dana 71 rear axles with the 3.07 ratio can use all the ABS compatible 3.31-4.10 ratio differentials. 1991-1993 are the only years where the 3.07 ratio was used with 32 spline axle shafts. The Dana 71 has a greater pinion offset compared to the Dana 70 due to the larger diameter of the pinion head.
