All 1985 to 1993 Dodge Ramcharger, Dodge W-150 1/2 ton truck, Dodge W-250 3/4 ton truck, and Plymouth Trailduster with open knuckle Dana 44 Central Axle Disconnect (CAD) Front Axles use the same differential and pinion bearings.
All bearings are not created equal for fit or durability, so we only stock first class, long lasting, Timken® Differential and Pinion Bearings for your Dana front axle. Timken® was and is a a major original equipment supplier of top-notch bearing components to Dana Spicer. Since I first started rebuilding Dana axles in the mid 1970's, I have found Timken® Bearings to be the most consistent in relation to the published dimensions of any bearing on the market which makes rebuilding an axle right the first time a WHOLE lot easier!
Almost all 1985 to 1993 Dodge Ramcharger/Plymouth Trailduster, W-150 1/2 ton truck, W-250 3/4 ton trucks with open knuckle Dana 44 Front Axles used NP208D or NP241D part time transfer cases and had vacuum controlled Central Axle Disconnect (CAD). With a part time transfer case and CAD, the axle shafts and spider gears rotate but the pinion and differential case do not so extreme diff/pinion bearing wear is rather rare. However, the flip side is water condensation in the diff housing has a tendency to cause rust and pitting of the bearings If your vintage Dodge has been parked outside and subject to temperature changes, there is a good chance that significant water damage may have occurred on your differential and pinion bearings. When you replace the bearings, do not forget to replace the inner axle shaft oil seals.
